Equipment
Surprisingly, Field Hockey does not require a lot of equipment in order to play! Just a few items to protect you from dangerous plays and to lower the risk of injury.
A typical field player is required to have:
A Field Hockey goalie (top right picture above) is require to have:
All players must take off all jewelry before the start of play. This includes earrings, necklaces, rings, hair ties, bracelets, etc. Failure to do so may result in a card during play.
A typical field player is required to have:
- A molded mouthpiece/mouthguard
- Eye protection goggles
- A Field Hockey stick
- Shinguards and Shinguard Socks (typically the color of your team, everyone must be matching)
- Players are suggested, but not limited to, the use of gloves to protect the players' hands and fingers from injury
- In game situations, a matching team uniform
- Turf shoes/cleats (depending on type of field)

- Leg Guards
- Padded Shorts
- Chest Armor
- Gloves
- Throat Protector
- Helmet
- Arm/Elbow Protectors
- A field hockey goalie stick
